With the conviction of not isolating the old and the deprived, old age homes run for a noble cause and are a blessing for the homeless elderly people. To break the monotony and with the objective of engaging in a social activity, Chehre-The Dramatics Club of IMNU visited the ?Jeevan Sandhya Old Age Home? on the 28th of January 2018. This organization is an abode to about 180 old people.
With a sincere thought of making the young and the old experience the joy of receiving love, Saral kids were also taken along. A cartoon sketching workshop was organized as an icebreaker activity. This session helped everyone open up and created a blissful environment. To make the environment even more enthusiastic and joyous, members of the Chehre Club put up a stand-up comedy show. The elderly along with Saral kids laughed their hearts out and this was a moment to cherish.
To instill more liveliness and fun into the occasion everyone decided to play the old school, an evergreen game of Antakshari. The day ended with everyone savoring Khichu, an exotic Gujarati dish relished by all. The elderly poured their hearts out to everyone and how meeting with the kids filled up the void in their lives. The visit was impactful as the residents of the old age home touched everyone with their hankering hearts and unwavering hopes.
